Julia Messer
About Me:
Hellorrr! I'm Julia. I'm an actor/singer/amateur royal historian. I'm originally from Richmond, Virginia where I learned the importance of good sweet tea and porch sittin'. I graduated from American University in 2019 with a BA in Performing Arts: Musical Theatre. While in school, I completed an apprenticeship with the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company in Boston in 2018.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, I, like many others, fled to Paju, South Korea. There, I was a Resident Artist with English Musicals Korea, where I performed in and co-created 5 different musicals designed to supplement ESL education. I very recently returned after a year and a half with EMK, and I'm excited to be back in New York!
Alongside performing, I have experience as a composer/lyricist. Extracurricularly, I enjoy K-pop, crime shows, podcasts, and ABBA. I frequent local escape rooms and I'm always down for a Jane Austen marathon. I'm also a great baker, if I do say so myself.
